  1. In europe we say morels show up 8-10 days after sarcosphaera crassa. Cheers.
  2. Agree. In addition, if you dry the tree ear, then the lower surface becomes rougher, a bit like sandpaper while the upper surface is smoother... Color then become clearly different (black on top, greyish underneatrh) Cheers
  3. In Europe, I would find them both in the Spring and the Fall. Interstingly enough, the locations were different.
  4. Were they growing on a stump? Reminds me of agrocyhe cylindrica in Europe.
  5. Thanks I checked the younger specimens and did not find any veil. This is a picture of the same ones from yesterday. Nice spore print....
  6. Or something else entirely? Not Mellea, at least the one I am used to.
  7. I am quite familiar with the European Boletus Pinophilus, and this definitely looks quite similar, though slightly different. Stem is typically much thicker and bulbous, but the colour of the cap and stem is right on. So, I can understand it would be named this way.
  8. I cut the ones that have started to turn pink until only white is left. Never had any problems. It is delicious sauteed with butter but need to be consumed within hours of picking.
  9. I was told bolettelus Russelli. Opinions?
  10. Certainly looks like the stalk is it, but the color throws me off a bit.
  11. Very similar to what I am used to find in Spain, though someone smaller. Too elastic and sturdy to be Mycena Pura. Maybe a similar NA species I am not familiar with. Opinions?
