  1. I saw these chicken of the woods as I was driving by yesterday. Then went to my hen of the woods tree later. My first good mushrooming day this year.
  2. Hi, I'm Dan from Massachusetts. I've been mushroom hunting for several years.
  3. I've only seen wild beach plums, but I'll look into the other kinds. I live in central MA. I just found out about Hobble berries this year, and I've eaten a few.
  4. I live in MA and there are no Buffalo berries or wild plums around here. I wish there were!
  5. Hedgehog mushrooms Hygrophorus milky Some kind of red russula Purple-gilled Laccaria Russula declorans Cortinarius iodes
  6. Thanks Dave, next time I'll eat some. I did make a spore print and it was pure white. Luigi, that lobster in the picture wasn't in good enough condition to eat -- the underside was rotten. But they're one of my favorite mushrooms to eat when I find them in good condition. I use them in omelets, and they turn the eggs kind of orange. I eat the cinnabars too, but they don't seem as good as the Cantherellis cibarius.
  7. I'll get more information next time. Thanks.
  8. Thanks Dave. Are the dryinus as good to eat as the other oysters?
  9. Cinnabar Chanterelles Wolf's Milk Slime. I had never seen this before. Lobster I don't know if this is Pleurotus ostreatus, or dryinus. Black Trumpets
  10. Does this look like Oak Collybia? And I found these in a pile of wood chips. Any ideas? Does this look like a Grey Bolete? It was as big as my fist. It didn't stain and the underside of the pores are the same color as the top of the cap. Thanks.
  11. I'm Dan from central Massachussetts. I've been hunting mushrooms for three years, and I enjoy all the endless new information. I also enjoy photographing mushrooms. This is the first Hygrophorus Milky I've seen this year. They're one of my favorites.
  12. I found these on a dead log today and wondered what kind they are. They're orangish, and the caps are about 1/2 inch in diameter. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks.
