John Smalldridge
This has been a really crazy season. First I had an unbelievable amount of chanterelles popping up everywhere at least two to three weeks earlier than I can remember and now these at lease three weeks to 4 months earlier than I can remember finding them before. Three weeks early. Craterellus odoratus. About a month and a half early. Leccinum albellum. And finally a species of boletes edulis that I usually see in September. Dave W
Nice finds, John! I don't recall ever finding Craterellus odoratus. Those spring edulis can really surprise you with how early they show up.
John Smalldridge
Dave, this is the first time that I have observed B.edulis in the spring here where live. This was a good lesson for me to check my spots more regularly after heavy rains.
