Adawg
It has been a very warm and wet December here in Va. . Temps have been in the 60's-70's for highs, and 50's for lows at night . Is it possible that we could have a Morel flush ???? I have only found morels in spring, but it sure feels like spring here now .. Thanks for any thoughts .. I will go for a walk on Sunday, and see whats up ..
Adawg
Well, I went for a walk in the hills today . This up in the Shenandoah NP .. And to answer my own question, no .... I found no terrestrial shrooms at all . However, I did end the walk with about 8 lbs. of oysters .. Also found an old chicken, but it was too far gone to harvest .. Sorry no pics, Windows 10 still has me stumped ...
Dave W
Oysters is the thing during this type late-season weather. People are also still getting them up here in PA. I think that in order to get morels, the trees --oaks, tulip poplar, ash, apple-- need to get to the point where the buds are ready to open.
