Morel question

It has been a very warm and wet December here in Va. . Temps have been in the 60's-70's for highs, and 50's for lows at night .

Is it possible that we could have a Morel flush ???? I have only found morels in spring, but it sure feels like spring here now ..

Thanks for any thoughts .. I will go for a walk on Sunday, and see whats up ..

Well, I went for a walk in the hills today . This up in the Shenandoah NP .. And to answer my own question, no .... I found no terrestrial shrooms at all .

However, I did end the walk with about 8 lbs. of oysters .. Also found an old chicken, but it was too far gone to harvest ..

Sorry no pics, Windows 10 still has me stumped ...

Oysters is the thing during this type late-season weather. People are also still getting them up here in PA. I think that in order to get morels, the trees --oaks, tulip poplar, ash, apple-- need to get to the point where the buds are ready to open.
