shroomersue
I cant believe 51 weeks later my great area for mushrooms is so devoid of any at this relatively same time frain. All I found was three small lonely red chanterelles. Compared to last years haul from Aug.15 for a solid month I picked bags of them plus other tasty additions like hericium and black trumpets. I hope it turns around with some rain coming to make em pop.
1shotwade
Sue,you done good last year! You can afford a couple of off years and still come out good!I do feel for you though,I went out today after rain 2 of the last five days and not one chanty to be seen. Never have found a black trumpet!Them and hens are my pursuit since I found my first ever oysters today! Knocking them off,one species at a time! Hoping it gets better for you! John Smalldridge
Sorry to hear about your lack of mushrooms. It was like that around here all summer, but we finally got the rain and now I can't find time to get into the woods. Oh well, I ope things get better for you. ChefsWild
Dry as a bone in Raleigh also, except at the southern edge. Cary, Morrisville, Durham and Chapel Hill have been pretty good though.
