dualsetters
There were many orange capped milkys today and few smooth chanterelles, but I did all right. 1st milky I found. I put it in the identification forum. Believe its Lactarius volumes. never saw these before this red and yellow stained all over found a few flame colored chanterelles they weren't there last week but were plentiful today. Found a few more patches, but my go to spot had no more than a handful this year. hedgehogs (Hydnum repandum I believe) was curious about this bolete. It was non staining, cream pores and mild tasting. Believe it was Tylopilus gracilis. end of the day think some of the C ignicolor I picked were actually Cantherellus minor. I tossed them. Not sure if they're good for eating.

dualsetters
Thanks wade. I have about 4 seasons in and the spots are starting to add up. The milkys are something new I added to my list this year. I don't think there's no end to learning with mushrooms.

John Smalldridge
Thanks for posting your hunt. The second photo maybe a hygrocybe. Those are nice photos showing the environment where they were found.

Evan
C. minor are edible, but I've never bothered due to the small size. Anytime I find them the largest is about a half inch.
dualsetters
Thanks Evan. They were tiny. I didn't even notice them until I was picking through the C ignicolor . I was disappointed with them . They seemed awful bland compared to smooth chanterelles.
