Sharing the joy from SW Ohio !

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to share the joy and the story! I went to Ohio today to visit a friend.I mentioned I'd found some chanty's and said "there's probably some in that woods behind your house".Sure enough, didn't even get across the fence and saw 2 flushes of cinnabar's! We picked around 100 in maybe 12-15 flushes in about 1/2 hour. He had to fire up the grill so I cleans the sroom's and they went good with buffalo wings!

After eating I had to take a walk so hoped back over the fence and found this hat full, again in about 1/2 hour.I found about 50-60 goldens in 2" of standing water. They were decaying but I did manage to get a dozen or so.

Sorry 'bout the "not so good" picture as all he had was a phone. He also took pix of the first group but it didn't come in my email so if it does I'll add them later. They were about twice as many as in this pix!

They look like nice-sized cinnabars. I'd recommend trimming the stalk bases in the field, to avoid having the dirt get into the fertile surface where it's difficult to clean.

Yah! You're right. It was a spur of the moment thing and I didn't bring a knife and was hot and sweety so got a bit lazy!
