CajunShroomer3578
What's you guys and gals take on the Laetiporus fruiting more than once throughout the season ? I understand they will likely grow back the following year in the same location but really haven't read anything about fruiting twice in a season. I found some last fall here in South Louisiana, as some of you may recall it was around late September, and I'm curious as to if I should start looking for them as early as spring and summer ? I dont recall ever seeing them grow more than once on the sane log.
Dave W
June through most of October, for me. But difficult to predict for any given 2-4 week period. I find the most Laetiporus in early autumn. The earliest ones I've found have been the white-pored variety, L. cinncinatus. Years back, a friend of mine had an old dying oak near his house, and one summer/fall there were two fruitings of L. sulphureus on the oak.
