Checked a couple sources... B. rubroflammeus should show quite a bit of bluing on the cut context, but the one seen here shows virtually no internal staining. So I think B. carminiporus is a better bet for this ID. This type reportedly does not stain on the cut flesh. Southeastern NA distribution.

Nice photos of really beautiful mushrooms. I have never seen this species up here in PA.

I found a few reddish capped boletes down here in se GA yesterday after (finally) getting some rain, but spores & stem were yellow with serious blue staining. I thought they were seriously poisonous (& didn't take a photo), is that correct please? (Always my luck down here, either this kind or really gone over with bugs! Sigh.)
